Murmuration

I created this project for my final submission in the third year of my degree. After completing The High Stakes Steak Bake, I realised my passion for model making as well as my interest in stop motion and I wanted to use this project to explore these areas. I set myself the challenge of creating an animation from scratch: writing the story, making the characters and set and animating it. I also wanted to try and use as many professional techniques and resources as possible to prepare myself for the industry. This animation is the product of a great deal of hard work and resilience, and I am really proud of it.
Murmuration covers themes of nature, humanity, mental-health, reflection and everyday life. It highlights the beauty around us, which can often be overlooked when wrapped up in our own lives. It encourages us to take the time to appreciate our surroundings and enjoy a moment of peaceful reflection.

My animation is accompanied by a beautiful piece written by Sam Moss, a film composition student at Guildhall. Please take a look at his website for more of his work. https://www.samuelmoss.co.uk/
