ABOUT

Ella Richardson is an aspiring stop motion animator and model maker based in Manchester. She creates characters and detailed sets which bring stories to life and has recently been working on her own short film. She is passionate about making art that brings people joy and reflects real life.

While initially interested in fine art and art history, a foundation year at Manchester Metropolitan University led her to instead enrol onto the ‘Illustration with Animation’ course. Having always loved making models from clay, she decided to pursue this interest and began experimenting with making sets and characters in her second year. After attending Manchester Animation Festival, she discovered an interest in working as a model maker in stop motion animation. This led onto her final university project, a stop motion animation titled Murmuration.

Now a graduate, she is looking to break into the stop motion animation industry and is open to any roles in and around Manchester.
